Although Grover Cleveland didn’t sign it into law until 1894, the first U.S. Labor Day celebration took place on September 5, 1882, in New York City. Approximately 10,000 workers participated in a parade organized by the Central Labor Union and the Knights of Labor to recognize the social and economic contributions of American workers. 142 years later, we continue to honor American workers on the first Monday of September. In observance of Labor Day, Aero-Hose will be closed on Monday, September 2, 2024, and will reopen on Tuesday, September 3.
